Whether you decide to use Jackie Pratt Referrals or seek an agent on your own, obtaining knowledge and sound advice about your upcoming real estate transaction will give you a tremendous advantage while negotiating for the property you wish to purchase. Your most important source of knowledge and advice will be the agent you choose to represent and guide you.

If there were only one thought I could impart here, it would be that you (the buyer) must have your own agent. Occasionally, buyers will take interest in a particular property and immediately call the agent listed on the yard sign or in the print ads. This can be a crucial mistake that has the potential to place the buyer at a disadvantage. Smart buyers understand that the seller and buyer have opposing interests and each party should have an agent conducting the process with those specific interests in mind. The listing agent who represents the seller is contracted to look out for the seller’s interest...not yours.

If there is a particular property you would like to see, it is not necessary (nor advisable) to contact the agent that is representing the seller. As you may (or may not) know, any agent can show any property that is listed in the MLS (Multiple Listing Service). The bottom line for buyers is; find the right agent...then find the right property.

Finding the best agent on your own is not child's-play...to do so (especially in this complicated market) will require much research and considerable time on your part. That is why I believe the best way to find an agent is through the services of Jackie Pratt Referrals.
